Get ready to support the very best of British Produce as we are fast approaching British Food Fortnight. As a family run, local greengrocer we love to promote UK grown produce as much as possible. We buy British as the quality is always so much better with less food miles and transportation involved. This means that the produce is as fresh as it gets, often picked from the farms in the morning and delivered into your kitchens in under 24 hours.
The majority of the growers we work with are also family run businesses who we have formed fantastic relationships with. English Produce is thriving, we are in the height of English Apple Season and the farm in Tonbridge has been providing delicious Red Robjin, Early Windsor, Royal Gala and Bramley Apples to name a few. English Marrows are a must at the moment and English Greengages are also a delicious treat!
As summer has now drawn to an end this is the perfect time to embrace all the wonderful English Mixed Squashes and Pumpkins we are seeing on the market, perfect to prepare for Halloween which is just around the corner. English Strawberries, Raspberries and Blackberries have around a month left so British Food Fortnight will be perfect to finish off and celebrate the season in style. Finally, English Savoy and Hispi Cabbages are fantastic, perfect for hearty Sunday roast dinners now the weather has sloped off.
